wages and benefits.

- Employees from the Latina and Anagni facilities have collaborated
on several educational initiatives to raise EHS awareness and understanding
in the community. This partnering has resulted in the publication of
several booklets about water, plants and animals, and chemicals.
- The health of our employees, the safety of our process, and the protection
of the environment are the commitments of our facility and the moral
principles of our way of work.
- The facility produces pass-cards for visitors to better inform them
of specific risks located at the facility.
- The Latina facility has included the following in their EHS long term
goals:
- Implementing an incentive program to increase operators' safety
awareness.
- Extend the principal of process safety management in the chemical
production area.
- Implement EHS training programs in order to enhance EHS awareness
and productivity among all Division employees.
- Implement a formal Community Outreach Program at all Division
facilities that identifies community EHS concerns and regularly
communicates with key community representatives.
Environmental Performance
- The Latina facility achieved ISO 14001 certification in 2000, and
achieved the health and safety management system certification OHSAS
18001 in 2002.
- Top management chooses to implement and certify an EHS integrated
management system. To build our integrated management system, we analyzed
our environmental impact activities and the potential health and safety
risks for the employees. After this initial analysis we defined objectives,
quantified targets of improvement, and determined an action plan in
order to attain the desired objectives. We developed policies,
programs, and procedures to protect employees from any physical and
chemical risk and to defend the natural ecosystem. For example,
our biological wastewater treatment plant will allow us to decrease
our environmental impact.
