  • The Meymac facility opened in 1990. The facility has grown steadily and now employs approximately 180 people. Several expansions have been made since the facility opened. The site also offers opportunities to expand again in the future.

  • The facility directly contributes to the local economy through employment (one of the major facilities in the county), capital investment, and contribution through taxes.
  • In that way, the facility efficiently combines its location with sustainable development. Meymac teams are involved in maintaining continuous improvement, which includes an environmental management system.
  • The plant also regularly contributes to support local initiatives (schools, cultural events, etc.) through donations.
  • In 2005, the plant was re-engineered in order to be compliant with the GMP flows (3 million dollar investment in 2005 and 2006).
  • We are now working on the upgrade and acquisition of packaging lines in order to extend our production capacity in line with the BMS strategy (approximately 5 million dollar investment).

Community and Social Progress

  • The environmental policy is extensively shared with all the employees through dissemination of training and providing them with bulletins about safety and environmental programs. The EHS department often provides information to the employees about accident prevention. As a matter of standard practice, EHS training is provided to all new employees to the site. This training covers the company's commitment to safety as well as environmental programs.
  • The facility received a safety award in 2004 for its good results in 2003.

  • Environment and Safety objectives are aligned with BMS objectives within the Sustainability 2010 program.
  • The Meymac facility received ISO 14001 certification in 1999. It is the first plant to be certified in the county and one of the first certified in the region. The last re-certification was in 2002.
  • The plant aligns its environmental performance objectives with the group objectives of the Sustainability 2010 program.
  • The management system has allowed the facility to reduce consumption of water and energy and to maintain pollution prevention efforts at different levels

    • Resource optimization
  • This policy is also communicated to our local partners, suppliers, contractors, local high school students, and other visitors who are welcomed on site.
  • ISO 14001 and security training are also provided to all the employees
  • The EHS department works also to review and improve our performance with water and materials, in accordance with Sustainability 2010 program.
